George Kokosis, MD

George Kokosis, MD is a highly subspecialized plastic and reconstructive surgeon dedicated to restoring the form, appearance and image of every patient; he is honored to become part of their journey.

Originally from Greece, Dr. Kokosis came to the U.S. to receive his surgical training from some of the nation’s most prestigious institutions. He was fully trained as a general surgeon at Duke University Hospital. At Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he completed his plastic and reconstructive surgical residency, he trained under world leaders in traumatic and cosmetic facial reconstruction; this experience instilled in him the value of taking a thorough and detailed approach to facial analysis to provide the best possible outcome. At Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he completed a year of subspecialty training, he focused a significant amount of his time developing his expertise in breast reconstruction.  

Dr. Kokosis is very much invested in listening to each patient’s unique story and getting to know them before discussing the reason they scheduled the consultation. This deeply personal approach enables him to tailor his treatment recommendations based on who the patient truly is, what they represent and what they need to achieve their desired goals.

Dr. Kokosis enjoys reading books and traveling, including taking an annual trip to Greece every year to see his family. He also enjoys swimming and sailing and is an avid snowboarder. He moved to Chicago in July 2020 and is enjoying exploring this beautiful city.
