Patients come to Elizabeth Damstetter, MD, and say they feel overwhelmed about the number of different skin treatments available and don’t know what to choose. Her goal is to help patients narrow down choices by engaging in a discussion about which options will give them the most satisfaction and confidence in their skin.
Dr. Damstetter takes great pride in providing comprehensive skin services, from acne management to skin cancer screening, from concerns over hair loss to Botox for wrinkles.
In her practice, she sees patients with acne scarring and other skin diseases. She offers a number of procedures to address scarring, such as microneedling, chemical peels, lasers, Botox and fillers. As a board certified dermatologist, Dr. Damstetter advocates for the use of topical and oral medications where she feels it’s in the patient’s best interest.
Another frequent concern for her patients: aging-related skin changes, such as fine lines, wrinkles and sagging. She enjoys helping a patient restore a more youthful appearance without “overcorrecting.”
Recently, younger patients have started asking her how to prevent or delay signs of skin aging. For these patients, she focuses on a well-balanced skin care regimen and selects treatments that offer “preventive maintenance.” Dr. Damstetter tells her patients, “Just like brushing your teeth, cosmetic procedures that prolong skin health are best done consistently and strategically.”
The best part of her day is walking into a room and seeing a patient’s skin “just positively glowing.” She also loves hearing stories about when her patients receive unsolicited compliments on their skin. Dr. Damstetter values her relationships with patients and finds great joy in sharing the journey to skin health alongside them.
